MAXINE WOLFF SHAPIRO
Senior Jewelry Buyer
Maxine Wolff Shapiro is highly regarded as a leading expert by dealers, collectors and those in the jewelry industry in antiques - including jewelry, art and other collectables. Just as a piece of antique jewelry tells a unique story, Maxine’s story is also unique, inspired by her family of retailers, antique dealers and auctioneers.
In 1999, Maxine was one of the founders of Willow Place Antiques in Richmond, Virginia, a 40 dealer juried antique gallery. She was fortunate to supply most of the antique jewelry to the Stephen Spielberg “Lincoln” movie, which was filmed in and around Richmond. This led to work in other movies and television shows.
Maxine was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia. At the age of 13, Maxine and her family moved to Los Angeles, California and spent many summers in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University, majoring in Business.
Maxine found her love of antiques, and immersed herself into buying and selling the finest and most unusual antiques at small booths in antique malls, as well as exhibiting at antique shows across the US for 30 years. In 2005, she focused on antique sales and estate liquidation.
In 2021, Maxine joined National Estate Jewelry Buyers of Delray Beach, Florida, bringing with her expertise, enthusiasm and love of history. “I have always enjoyed buying jewelry - it’s almost like being on a treasure hunt,” said Maxine. “You will never know what you will find. My passion is finding and identifying estate and antique jewelry.”
Maxine is looking forward to sharing the stories surrounding your jewelry, fine art and other valuables that you are interested in selling. Call and schedule an appointment today.
